70 Soup Kitchens Supported in 2023

Before the epidemic, Love Story fed up to 300 homeless people five times a week in Gqeberha, South Africa (February 21, 2023). Since its founding in 2012, the organization has supported vulnerable communities through a number of initiatives, including this one.

Meeting the needs of people in and around Gqeberha is the organization’s main goal. They run soup kitchens, assist crèches, provide out toys and clothing, and supply hospitals with supplies.

Elaine Watson, the creator, reached out to her network to boost support as the pandemic started. Consequently, the organization increased its activities and has since fed thousands of individuals.

Many people continue to struggle with poverty even when things have returned to normal. Love Story continues to supply food ingredients and cooking gas to 70 soup kitchens. Every week, thousands of people are fed in these community-run kitchens.

Over 3.4 million meals have been distributed by the organization since March 2020. Children and elderly persons who are unable to sustain themselves make up the majority of those who gain from this assistance.
